Bad Wimpfen restaurant recs?
We will be in Bad Rappenau for a short break (to visit with our German relatives) this summer and plan to day trip to Bad Wimpfen (only one stop and 5 minutes away by train). Any restaurant recs? Nothing fancy, just a good place to relax with some wine or beer and have a nice lunch.
We've checked the various BW web pages, looking here for personal recs.
Thanks!
(P.S. Accommodations already set--easy to do--there's only one hotel in BR. Looks nice and doubles are just 40€ per night.)

I stopped there and had a very nice meal at a retaurant a bit up the hill, overlooking the Neckar valley. I'm not quite sure of the name, but I believe it was called "Am Kurpark". In any event, being a spa (Bad Wimpfen) it is liely to have several good places to eat. Afterall, eating is part of the German "Kur". And if you have a car, there are several other places and castles along the Neckar Valley with good restaurants and nice views. The main road along the (north side) of the Neckar is called the Burgenstrasse = castle route.

Thanks for the rec, we will try and check it out. Yes, we're driving to Bad Rappenau from Brussels (and back), but we only have one free day, the rest of the time will be spent with our German relatives. So we're just going to hop on the train over to BW as it's so close by. On our way home, we have to stop in BB to clean the family memorial bench at the cemetery in Baden Oos. And maybe stroll through town, have a bit of pastry and coffee.

We're in Germany now and enjoying ourselves immensely. I was wrong about the number of hotels in BR, however, there are several.
We had a lovely time in Bad Wimpfen getting a guided tour from a cousin who lives a couple of miles away and lived in BW for several years. As expected, our German relatives didn't want German food for dinner, so we went out to the Chinese restaurant (Tan Do) on the back road to BW from BR and had an absolutely delicious dinner in a pretty setting overlooking the countryside. We were tempted to take in the dance night at the Schloss Cafe in BR (they have live music and dancing every Saturday evening), but we were told that it's mostly for singles.
Business required an early departure from Brussles with an overnight in Ulm, adding a day to the trip. We really liked Ulm and by stopping in Neu Ulm, got to put a fuss in Bavaria, but the traffic around Stuttgart was horrific. The A8 in that region is one giant mess, stop and go traffic for miles, and we got caught up with both rush hour traffic and the crowds heading in for the Genesis concert. The A61 was slow too, but we've come to expect that.
But snarled traffic aside, it's great to be in Germany!
