Bad Idea - Paris Suite on ground floor?

I am thinking about booking a suite at the Hotel Elysees Regencia in Paris, which is located on 41 Avenue Marceau, in the 16th Addr., about 1 block behind the George V hotel. I guess this is centrally located between the Arc and Eiffel Tower.

The hotel only has 2 suites...a smaller "attic suite" (about 39 sq. mtrs.) on the top floor, with a view of the "top part of eiffel tower only". The 2nd suite is bigger (about 51 sq. mtrs.) and more luxurious for only about 50 euros more per nights...but it's on the ground floor. A view of the eiffel tower would be great, but the room doesn't look as nice as the suite on the ground floor. Will the ground floor be too noisy? Please help me decide.

Thanks

We stayed at this hotel (standard room) in 2000 and enjoyed it very much. As I recall, the two streets it is sandwiched between are small and residential, so it's not as if you'll be hearing traffic coming from a large boulevard at night. I guess it depends on how noise sensitive you are and how much you value the added space; I'd rather have the room with a view, myself, unless it is lacking in natural light.

All the best to you.

Thanks for the advice. I am not super noise sensitive, as I live in a big metro area (on the 5th floor though). It's a tough decision.

Are you sure it is on the Ground floor or 1st floor which would put it on the 2nd floor?
I never care about the floor so much as being on the street vs a courtyard..I try to always get off the street rooms.

I wouldn't want a room on the ground floor due to the noise and people returning late at night...I had to chuckle when I read that a 39 meter room is called a suite...whereas in Bangkok, for example, my standard rooms, in really good hotels start at around 40 meters...suites are around double the size. My room in Paris is probably only about 23 square meters...a closet...and for about 122Euros a night. Smiles. Happy Travels!

I don't know that hotel, so maybe it wouldn't be an issue, but I generally would avoid any ground floor room in any hotel. They are often noisy, and not because of street noise but because of the desk, people in the lobby and traffic in that area. People may be coming and going at all hours, and staff may even be talking out there.

Yes, if it is the actual ground floor, you will be too close to the lobby/desk/front door noises.

Yes, and there's always the very noisy staff that come to work very early in the morning. Happy Travels!
