Thanks all for your replies
Rick - wallpaper is fine.
Bob - I used Manual mode, ISO 80, tripod and self-timer. These cameras are not so good at high ISOs.
Susan - I don't know about the trip report, probably not

Hi Bob.
Have fun in your trip to France
What I would like to advise to you is - try to get one of these wide-angle adapters for your camera. I find wide-angle lens a must during my trips because it allows you to capture all that beautiful European architecture and opens whole new galore of creative possibilities. Do a research at Dpreview.com Canon talk forums for recommended adapters.

(Leely--how eloquently stated!!!)
Olegis...the Thesaurus does not contain enough words. I thought I was looking at postcards! (Which I always buy in case something happens and my pics don't turn out. But they always look great next to MY pictures!) Have you ever thought of putting together a postcard "book" and selling them online?
Wonderful. Thank you. (I am planning my very first Italian vacation for this fall and you've made Italy even more enchanting than I could possibly have imagined!)
