Back from Rome (again) - pictures !
Hi all,
We just got back from Rome - what a great experience ! It was our second time in this magnificent city, so we already knew where we wanted to go and what we wanted to see and to do. As always, I brought back a lot of pictures. This time I enjoyed photographing with a small P&S camera - I still took my whole SLR kit, but walking around with just a small camera was such a joy that I ended up using it much more (in spite all the limitations of such cameras). So, the pictures are here - http://www.pbase.com/olegis/rome_2007 . I haven't uploaded all the pictures yet, so be sure to check the gallery again in a few days for updates :-) Have a nice day, Oleg www.Olegis.com |
Wow... those are some great pics... Thanks for sharing. What camera do you use (not that I know too much about photography, but I'm just curious)?

Thank you for sharing your gorgeous photos.

Lovely photos!
|
Love your pictures. I am also interested in the P&S camera you used. My son is in Rome as we speak and we will be going for the first time in May. Looking forward to more pictures. Will you be writing a report of your trip?
|
Thanks :-)
I used the Canon A630 camera with a small tabletop tripod and 2-sec self timer. |
Oleg,
Love your photos of Rome! Did you you a wide angle lens adaptor on your Canon? Thanks, Susannah |
Hi Susannah,
Thanks for your reply. I don't use a wideangle adapter with the A630, but I do have wideangle lens for my Canon 10D (Sigma 10-20mm). |
Hey Olegis,
Another great gallery. Really liked the angles and the B & W. Thanks for sharing them. Tom |
Fantastic photos!
|
I had such a hard time with shooting inside St. Peter's basilica. Your images were stunning. Can I ask how you set the camera to get so much light?
|
Wow! Beautiful gallery. You are very talented.
|
WOW...beautiful photos. Makes me want to sign up for a photography course!
|
Thanks all :-)
Sandi, I set the camera on a small tabletop tripod (Manfrotto 709) and used self-timer and mirror lock option. This way I could use some long exposure times - for example this picture (http://www.pbase.com/olegis/image/75660583) was shot at f8.0 and shutter speed of 15 seconds. This small tripod is surprisingly steady even with relatively large and heavy camera like Canon 10D. There is no way I could get these amounts of light without tripod ! |
one word -- "jealous" :) great pictures!!!
|
Your photos capture how I see Rome; my photos only capture how I photograph it. :)
Thanks for sharing these; they are truly lovely. |
Stunning! I am in awe, how gifted you are.
|
As always, your photos are amazing! Thanks for sharing.
|
Thanks all for your kind words :-)
|
FABULOUS! Thank you so much.
