B&B's Lake District

Any B&B recommendations for the southern Lake District? Windermere, Grasmere, etc.

If you would check Smoothhound.co.uk, there are quite a few good deals around.

Cedar Manor. Outstanding rooms, fair price. They have a web site (http://www.cedarmanor.co.uk/). Just outside of Windermere on the road toward Ambleside.

Also, I like the Sun (though a couple of the rooms are small) in Coniston.

I also like the Wateredge in Ambleside, but it doesn't really qualify costwise as a B&B.

Biscuit: go to the top of the message board (currently #4) or search on "Lake District Advice" for my description of The Old Vicaredge at Ambleside (about two miles from Windemere). About $55 to $60 per night. Comfortable and homey rather than luxurious. Have a great trip.

Biscuit: Of course, that should be The Old Vicarage. Sorry!
