England - Lake District
We will be in the Lake District 19 Sept to 22 September. I was thinking of staying in Grasmere but I am open to suggestions. We would like a nice B & B. Also, any resturant recommendations would be welcome.

We had a wonderful stay at Fair Rigg Guest House, Bowness-on-Windermere in the Lake Distict. Easy walk into the village. See web site at www.smoothhound.co.uk. Also see reviews at tripadvisor.com.
Have a wonderful holiday.

We stayed at The Edwardene Hotel in Keswick (Southey Street. www.edwardenehotel.com) Keswick is a pleasant little town by a beautiful lake, Derwentwater. Lovely walks by the lake or more strenuous ones on to the fells. Castlerigg Stone Circle is well worth a visit. We enjoyed a meal at The Horse and Farrier- a restored 17th century inn in Threlkeld near keswick.
Keswick has several nice cafes/and great pubs. Check out "Salsa" a Mexican bistro and "The Oddfellow's Arms" which has excellent beer and live music every night! Also do not miss Blackwell, an Arts and Crafts house by Lake Windermere, at Bowness on Windermere- really beautiful setting and my dream house. Has a good restaurant too!!

Lindaraem--
We stayed in GRASMERE and it was TERRIFIC...We stayed in Grasmere= at Michael's Nook-- fabulous manor home!!! great restaurant on premises open to the public but meals come with price of room-- very near Ambleside which we thoroughly loved!!
You will LOVE This Place- ask for the ROOM OVERLOOKING the FRONT GARDENS-- Killer view- Large room with sitting area- they even will serve you the full breakfast in your room- and a super large bath!!
The public spaces here are gorgeous and filled with antiques..the owners raise GREAT DANES and 2 of them normally come walking thru the house...
The Chef is a MICHELIN chef- people from outside of the manor house even come here for dinner- it is WONDERFUL!!!
