B & B Sandra in Venice

We just returned from our wonderful vacation in Italy, 2 glorious weeks! With a little bit of luck (and no procrastination) I will have a trip report of sorts posted in a short while. Just in case I don't get to that in a timely manner I wanted to make a post concerning this wonderful bed and breakfast (B & B Sandra) { http://www.bbalessandra.com/index.php }. We would highly recommend this place. It was a very neat, eclectic and clean home. We had the upper room with the roof terrace-just great; we spent much of our "down" time up there. Her breakfast meals were delicious, something different every day. Each day after our room was cleaned there was a plate of goodies left on the trunk that had an electric water pot, cups and tea and instant coffee, very nice touch. Above all those things though this couple (Sandra & Leonardo) are just really nice people. Her map is perfect; we had absolutely no trouble finding her place. They are so accommodating-she dug up a bottle of white wine for my hubby so we could have wine on our terrace one day when we returned from our afternoon out. She arranged our water-taxi (we had to leave her place at 4:45am) and Leonardo got up in the morning (probably 4-4:30), called the taxi company to make sure they were coming and stayed outside with us until the taxi arrived! Good thing too as the taxi driver had a hard time finding the place. When the boat wasn't there at exactly 4:45 he called the company again and really gave the guy on the telephone a piece of his mind! He had given the company good directions-they just didn't follow them. It was a final taste of what we love most about Italy, the people there. We would not consider staying anywhere else if we are lucky enough to return to Venice. Shirley

Thanks you Shirley. I just read her story of how she started the B&B. I'll certainly save their site for a future trip to Venice, hoping that the attic room will be available.

Looking forward to the rest of your trip report.

We stayed here in May and couldn't have been more pleased. Very friendly hosts and the breakfast was outstanding. What a beautiful home! Highly recommend it.
They have only 2 rooms. We paid 100Eu. per night.

Yes, just 2 rooms (to let), however we did not see the other room, which is on the same level as their main home. We paid E120 a night for the upper (which was quite roomy) with the balcony. Shirley

Thank you grimmy and Luv. It's useful to know those details. I have already arranged my next trip to Venice in Christmas time but might consider this B&B for next time.
