You will probably get many different answers. I always suggest starting with a search yourself. It takes a bit more work but by doing so you will turn up a LOT more to choose from than this one post will generate. Use the search box and type in Kilkenny B&B and then the other destinations.

Trip Advisor is helpful as is searching on Google for where to stay in Ireland. You will come up with some very good ideas and some professional reviews.

You did not give a price range. That would be helpful. Are you open to splurging if a place is truly excellent or do you want to keep to a budget?

Since you listed Kilkenny first I will tell you that I like Laragh House and Alcantra. Both are excellent, clean, comfortable and close to town. When you do a search you will find that I have recommended them to others here. You can click on my name for other suggestions or do the search mentioned above. Good luck with your search.

Alcantra was indeed clean and comfortable. It had easy access to the ring road. Whether it is walking distance to town depends upon your definition of "walking distance,"--as our friends had a toddler with them, we thought it too far to walk.

Thanks for the input. We wouldn't want to exceed $150 for a night and really want the best value period vs. focusing on price.
