B&B or Hotel in Derbyshire?
We will be going to Derbyshire, most probably being around the Bakewell area, during the very ending of May 2007. I've tried to search the forum, but haven't found alot of information.
Can anyone recommened a place to stay for 3 adults? We would only be staying for 2 nights, which probably takes out self-service cottages. We would like to spend around 40 pounds per person, per night.

janisj,
Thanks for the link, and all your help on the many, many threads I have!
Did you notice that the pictures for the rooms are a bit circular? Is that from a certain type of lens? I'm not sure if they stretched the picture, and the rooms are alot smaller than they look.
Also, did your friends mention what they liked? Were the owners friendly/helpful? I really like the look of the rooms, but the dining room seems a bit dated and dark.

You're very welcome.
It looks to me like they just used a super-wide angled (basically a fish eye)lens to get the whole room in.
My firends mostly mentioned the location and the breakfast - and that is was good value. (I always ask friends about places they liked/hate because I give travel talks and can't stay everywhere myself. So I just remembered this one at Bakewell - not a lot of details) If you need more info I can try to get in touch w/ one of them.

Have you seen this website?
www.cressbrook.co.uk/bakewell/bakewellbb.php
I used it to book a b & b last summer, but cut my trip short and never got to go.
My first choice had been Castle Hill Farm, which looks just amazing to me. The owner was slow in getting back to me (but eventually did) and I booked instead at Berry Nook, which also looks nice. I wish I'd gotten to go. Maybe another time...

janisj,
Just topping to see if I can take you up on your offer of getting in contact with your friends about Castle Hill - could you ask them about the rooms... were the pictures accurate and how was the size?
Also, was it close to Bakewell, or was it outside of that town?
Thanks!
