When you are going, it will be high season - so look for the higher price range when looking at hotels. Also, the French hotel star system works a bit differently. It's based on hotel amenities. So a 3 star hotel could be mediocre and more expensive than a nice, well-kept 2 star hotel only because the 3 star has an elevator and in-suite hair dryers and the 2 star hotel doesn't. At least that's what I understand.

If you look at the menu above, and click on Hotels tab, and then the Europe tab just below, and then the Paris link, and you can sort by price. From there, there are several price range links. That would be a good start.

You are not going to get a hotel rated a 3* that is inferior to a 2* because of hair dryers or elevators. That is nonsense. Hair dryers have nothing to do with the star ratings, and elevators do, but both are required at that star level for hotels of various heights.

Christina, I'm merely going by what I've read in various posts here, and from the guide books. I don't know this for a fact, since I said, "at least that's what I understand" - so thanks for the correction. It's much more complex than I thought.
