Autumn in Ireland

Autumn has arrived. The skies are overcast, and it is raining steadily.

It was like that in July, August, and much of September. The difference is that it is no longer unseasonal rain.

It will stop in 9 days when I'll arrive.
So far, I have never experienced Ireland with anything more serious than an occasional 30 minute shower.

As you speak of Autumn.. is this already the time to see colors change in the Wicklow Mountains (hmm.. not the colors of the mountains, but the trees, I mean leaves)?

Autumn in Ireland sounds pretty much like autumn in the Netherlands. It seems to be a season that now lasts from June to about mid December when we may get a day or two of winter if we're lucky before we go back to autumn for a few more months, followed by spring, blink and you missed it, and summer - a couple of dryish days in May/early June if you are lucky.
It's enough to make me want to emigrate (again)!
Have a great time in Ireland Cowboy!

It was stunning in Dublin last week but now the rain has returbed and there is a new chill in the air unfortunately. I have given up on sumers here...I go away for that!

The leaves are just starting to change colour, but very few are falling just yet. You might get lucky with the colour, if you can see through the mist and rain.
