Automatic transmission?

I'm going to Seville in December and I need to rent a car at Santa Justa. I would LOVE to have an automatic but I know those are hard to find. What's a girl gotta do to get an automatic in Europe? All the companies I've called either don't have them or are sold out. What's up?

This far ahead you should be able to reserve an automatic. Keep trying. But remember - even if you do reserve an automatic there is no guarantee you will get one. Sometimes they are overbooked.

But the good news is - if they downgrade you to a stick it will cost less.

Have you tried the big boys....Hertz and Avis? They might not have the best prices but they have plently of Automatics for us Americans who never learned to drive a stick!

Try www.carhire4less.co.uk. They've always gotten me automatics at good prices.

tina:

I rented a Peugot 306 with automatic transmission out of Sevilla airport with Avis for Whitsun week (Pentecost) last year. The reservation was made 6 weeks in advance.

So you might want to check the big ones and try to be flexible about the rental location. It should work out.

Enjoy your trip

Phil.

Thanks everyone! Hopefully I'll find the automatic. If not, I'll try not to burn out a clutch between Sevilla and Cadiz.
