Hotel in Venice

Can anyone reccomend a good hotel in Venice. My sister and her hubby will be picking up a cruise there and are not sure about hotels.

Can you name a few I can check on for her?

Hi, We stayed at La Locandiera last month. It was really a good hotel. Everyone was very nice. Walking distance to many sites.A small hotel, breakfast is included.
I would stay there again.

They have a web pagehttp://www.lalocandiera-ve.com/INDEX.htm

I will add that many of us have posted our favorite Venice hotels here on Fodors. This includes all price ranges... well, not too many at the top, I guess, but they are easy enough to find. ;-)

If you search Venice hotels you will find all the usual suspects. What do they like, and what do they want to spend?

If you type venice hotels at the top in the search box you should find dozens of previous posts on the subject. But if you give us a budget and tell us what they're looking for (big hotel, small b & b, something inbetween) we can make suggestions. I liked having a water view and being able to watch the boats go by. Some have complained on noise if you're right on the Grand Canal while others love it.
