Venice Hotel

My husband and I will be in Venice for three or four nights in September. Any suggestions on a good hotel or which part of the city to stay?

If you do a search on Venice Hotels, you'll find a lot of suggestions. My favorite, where I've stayed twice, in the middle price range, is La Calcina in the Dosoduro(sp?), but it may be a little late for that property which is justifiably famous.

We really liked Hotel Flora, but next time we stay in Venice, I hope to stay at Ca Maria Adele (www.camariaadele.it)

Artlover, I actually just posted a question regarding Ca' Maria Adele. Have you seen it before? It looks wonderful and surprisingly affordable? Online they are showing rates for $250-$325 USD? Any advice? We are going in June 2007 for our honeymoon and looking for a nicer, more modern hotel to stay in our first night or two in Venice, but probably wouldn't pay more than $325 or so. Thanks!

We were at the Canaletto in May this year for the first time and I must say we enjoyed it. Quiet arear near St Marco's and Rialto. Lovely people.

desiree,
We had a "grand tour" or the place, saw several rooms, and let me tell you, their website doesn't even do it justice. It's incredibly romantic. As far as better deals, maybe try to contact them directly, tell them it's your honeymoon, and see what they come up with for you, though June is already high season, so who knows? Good luck and congradulations!
