Athens to Rome
Hi guys..
I wanted to find out the best way to get to Rome from Athens. Airfares on the web are very expensive. I will be leaving around July 7th. Also if you have any tips for Italy let me know. Thanks!
Sara

Both Alitalia and Olympic air fly from Athens to Rome. We were scheduled to fly Alitalia but they were on strike so we ended up on Olympic. Check roundtrip excursion fares, even if you aren't interested in the return. They are usually much cheaper.

Aegean Air (www.aegeanair.com) has fares of 280.68 on July 7, that's for a one way ticket.

I was in the same jam. We were trying to get from Athens to Rome, but did not want to pay the $300 fare. We had decided to take the ferry from Patras to Bari to save money, but a flight to Santorini made us late for the ferry. We walked up to Air Italia-234 euros, but they were full. We walked up to Olympic Air-127 euros and they even fed us on the plane.

Hi Silvia..
Did you buy the tickets for Olympic Air from Greece? I was thinking of getting the tickets from Athens - might be cheaper. I did try Aegean Air. I guess I will go for that if we don't find a better fare. I thought about the ferry route - but it takes too long. I wonder why the flights to Rome are so expensive!? Its not that far.
