Anyone know if these are still in fashion in Italy?

I have an old pair bought years ago and need to replace them. Anyone know who carries them? Last year I ordered a pair in the Smith and Hawkins catalog. they advertised them as mine-made in Italy. but these felt awful on my feet and after examing them, I noticed they were made in china, so I sent them back and pointed out the false advertising.

My wife and daughter bought about 10 pairs last year in Milan - they're under $30 (at least when $ was strong). I'd imagine they'll still be about 1/2 price.

Coachboy

You have to click on "Superga Major Points, then on the X to close the box containing the first (Europe) map. You'll then see a map for the US. Click on that, and a list will pop up which you can download in PDF format - there are at least 20 stores, mostly on either coast (Lots in NY and CA.)

http://www.superga.it/eng/index_dove.html

The current price for a standard pair of Superga (canvas/rubber) is 25-30 euro. Obviously the leather types cost much more.

Paulareg, from a glance at the website Lesli posted, it looks like Superga sells quite a bit more than just sneakers. But their sneakers I'm familiar with (and I don't know if these are the ones that are most popular) have a very simple, classic design, and are white or cream-colored canvas.

I have the cream colored ones. Just washed my pair that I got last year from a store in West Los Angeles, to see if i can get by without having to get another pair before I get to Rome. I loved them as a teenager (in Rome)...and still do, but they're very expensive in the U.S.

Curses....foiled again! Tip Top Shoes on West 72nd Street in New York City carries them too. (Or used to!!). Don't know their exact web address but if you do a google I'm sure you'll find it. If you know your size they ship, etc.
