April 16-24 in Switzerland Valais- will it be very cold?
Dear Fodorites, I am planning a trip to Turkey and Switzerland in April 10, with my wife and 2 kids 13 & 15 years.
Trip will be divided into 2 parts
1. Switzerland- Torgon Mountain resort- 16-24th April 10
2. Turkey- 25th April to 6th May 10.
I have got a confirmed booking of a time share resort with a bit of difficulty.
We would be making day trips to Zermatt, Mont Blanc, Gruyere, Gstaad, Montreux etc. Then to Interlaken for 2 days with day trips to Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald.
Am a bit worried if it would be very cold and we would not be able to enjoy the holiday.
Temperature charts show 4-16 degree Centigrades, but wouldn't know how it would be coming back at 6-7 pm or leaving at 6-7 am to the resort.
What are the Sunrise and Sunset timings during this week?
Should I change my dates and reverse the itinerary- even if that means cancelling the timeshare and booking a more expensive accomodation?
Please help...

I don't know. I'd have to find it somewhere on the internet.
I live in Switzerland. In the past April has been a month of all kinds of weather. For the past two years, April has offered better weather than the beg. of May. Might be different this year.

April weather is unpredictable. Double so in the mountains.
In any case, reconsider using Torgon as a base for further trips. It is too remote. All these "time shares" seem to be built as far from main transportation routes as humanly possible in Switzerland. It is great if you just go hiking or skiing, enjoy the mountains and relax; but as a base for trips, they are extremely badly situated.

Altmiro, you are right. They are quite remote. But I had to consume my week. We will try and stretch our day.
I have changed my week to 8th May-to 15th May 10.( at the cost of 60 Euros extra)
This should give me 45 minutes of extra daylight and around 4 t 6 degree centigrade of warmer temp.
I hope this makes it a bit more comfertable.
Thanks
