Apartments
I know that there has been discussion of apartments, but I am still unsure. I was going to book Palazzo Olivia in Rome but have read some negative comments about noise. That's a big issue for us. I've alread comments about the San Lorenzo in Florence, but their site shows many different apartments.
I would appreciate any comments on these ort other possibilities.

I'm not sure what you've read, but the concern I've seen for Palazzo Olivia (and I'll be staying there in June) is that there is no AC so if you need to leave the windows open the noise could be a problem. I'm not sure where in Rome that wouldn't be true. Rome is a noisy city. We stayed at the Raphael Hotel on what should be a very quiet little street and slept with our windows closed and the AC on, but were awakened several times by the very noisy Vespas that seem to be everywhere in the city. Even the smallest little street may be plagued with those noisy beasts.
Incidentally, a friendly suggestion. It is wise to include the city or even exact apt. name in your title so people who are familiar with that property or that city will be more likely to click on and then be able to give you an answer.

Raymio, I can't comment on Rome, but the San Lorenzo apartment building in Florence does have many apartments. Your choice would have to be dependent upon your budget and how many people you have.
My husband and I rented the Lepri apartment at San Lorenzo this past summer and were very satisfied with it. We would stay there again for the location, ammenities and price. I have also read other posts here from people who stayed in the same apartment and liked it, as well.
Good luck in your decision. I'll be happy to answer more specific questions about the San Lorenzo building or the Lepri apartment itself.

We stayed at Palazzo Olivia this past June(1st week) and were very pleased with the apartment, the people and the area. I too was concerned that it might be too noisy but, it was not a problem at all, even with the windows open. Our apartment did not open onto a street, rather to a "courtyard" (alley?) overlooking a restaurant.
While we were in Rome, the weather was unusually warm (upper 90's every day) but, the apt stayed fairly comfortable and with the fans that were provided was very bearable.
I highly recommend Palazzo Olivia and hope to return soon.

Noise can be very subjective. Most city dwellers are used - and oblivious - to it. But I had a visitor from the country recently who constantly complained about the "noise" at night - which was nothing more than cars driving by in the street below. If you're really sensitive to city noises - and in Italy Vespas are everywhere - you would do better in a high floor of a hotel with sealed windows and AC. Sleeplessness is not worth any savings.
