Apartment in Rome

We are going to Rome next fall and would like to rent an apartment for a week. Does anyone know the best agencies to work with or of a particularly nice 2-bedroom apartment?

There are many out there. Check out www.slowtrav.com for reviews of specific agencies and apartments.

Good luck!

We used Rome Sweet Home several years ago. We rented a charming apartment (owned by architect) in Campo de Fiori.

Thanks all. Roman Reference offers an apartment on Piazza Del Popolo near Villa Borghese. Does anyone know this area or this apartment (164)?

I don't know the apt; the area is very nice, not in the middle of things like Navona or Campo de Fiori but not too far to walk to many attractions.

Anyone else have experience with Home Sweet Rome? They seem to have an apt that best meets my needs but I don't see many people posting that they have used this agency.

Type ROME APARTMENTS in the search field to see the dozens of comments on previous threads. Definitely go to www.slowtrav.com for reviews also.

I have to disagree about the location of the one near Borghese. Yes, it's a nice area and of course close to Galleria Borghese, but it is quite a ways from a lot of what you will want to see. Try the Piazza Navona/Pantheon/Campo de' Fiori area. Much more central.

I've used www.sleepinitaly.com four times and have had no problems.

We used vrbo.com for our Rome apartment rental this May. We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment near the Forum and Coliseum. It was very nice -- had a dishwasher and a washer/dryer. It was the Palazzo del Grillo -- vrbo #34749.

We rented a 2 bedroom 1 1/2 bath apt from Residenza Cellini http://www.residenzacellini.it/
I thought it nice (not elegant). I would recommend it. One bath was large and had a great shower. 1/2 bath small with toliet and sink. the kitchen was small with full refrig, stove. not really set up for a lot of cooking. 2 large bedrooms and 1 dining area. no living room. let me know if you need more info.

Well, duh, I just realized that this request was originally made back in January. Bob is probably in Italy now, or has just returned, or is just leaving!

Hi Leo,
Care to share any other details of your trip or rental?

Note to other Fodorites: this is the only post from this poster. Possibly an advertisement.

We rented our apartment in Campo de Fiori when we visited last September from Real Rome. Tim was very nice through all our questions, and getting the keys went off without a hitch.
