anyone used rail/drive passes for France and Switzerland
Hi. Has anyone used the rail/drive combo passes. I am needing to get from Paris to Geneva and then go from Geneva to Wengen and while in Wengen go to Schilthorn or Jungfrau and then rent a a car for the weekend and go to Mt. Blanc from Geneva. NOt sure which is wiser with convenience and price.
Any help/advice is much appreciated!

I think the Eurail Selectpass Drive (gives you 3 days of train travel and 2 days of Avis or Hertz rental car in or between) sounds like what you are seeking. I guess you would have to simply try www.railsaver.com to see what the point-to-point rail fares would be, and then comparison shop the car rental to get the most accurate idea.
I once used the (now defunct Fly'n')Rail'n'Drive, and the paperwork was easy, but then it's easy with any prep-reserved car at the "majors" (mine was Avis on that trip, I seem to rcall). No less so with the Rail'n'Drive, but no hassle either.
Best wishes,
Rex
