And I meant to say I thought of purchasing two tickets to connect to another European gateway( there are direct flights to Cape Town from the US , but oh the price!!)

At least in my area, it snowed only in the morning but it all melted away by 3pm.

La Tour de Cause:
I believe disruption is specific to T5. No other LHR terminals are affected. I highly doubt you need to worry about Gatwick.
