Any comments on this Berlin hotel -- Arcotel John F?

I'm currently planning our first trip to Berlin. I don't know the city at all so it's hard to 'locate' a hotel in my mind's eye. We like a fairly lively area, safe of course, because we like to walk. We'll explore other neighbourhoods but we like a hotel in area that has shops, restaurants, etc.

So...does anyone know anything about the Arcotel John F? It seems fairly new, gets uniformly good reviews and is in my price range. I'm pretty happy with it but don't know anything about the location. It seems to be near the opera house, the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag. I'm just wondering if it's a nice walking-around area with shops and restaurants, etc.
Here's the map. The big red thing is the hotel.

And here's the website home:

Thanks, danon. I think I'm going to go ahead with the Arcotel.

Before we go to Berlin, we're spending 5 days in London, staying at the Melia White House for the second time! It's a nice hotel, we get great rates and it's a wonderful location.

Sorry to be slow in seeing this. We stayed here for 3 nights in July, 2014 and very well satisfied with hotel itself and especially its location. Very close to museums, restaurants, shopping, etc. We walked to all our sightseeing spots. I think you can go back & read my forumBerlin trip report posted in July 2014, if you want to see more. Great choice, enjoy your Berlin time!

Thanks so much, CLB! It's so nice to have your personal take on the hotel confirm my choice. I'll definitely read your trip report but would you please post a link to it? I know I'm supposed to be able to just click on your name but every time I do something like that (even clicking on my own name), I get locked out of the website for a day. It's just a glitch on my side.
