ann..it was a thread about how long you have traveled consecutively. He always shot down anyone, no matter the length of their trip. He had an obscure set of rules he did not disclose, and was generally rude and condescending like he was here. No great loss IMO.

LOL, I have no idea why the longest uninterrupted trip thread was pulled. The definition was simple, uninterrupted travel with no stop of more than 3 months. Hardly obscure michele_d.

Rich posted 14 months and inferred Vietnam. Then asked if he 'won'. All I wrote was no he didn't 'win', lot's of others had done as much or more. I made NO disparaging remark about his patriotic service to his country. But Fodor's being what it is, no doubt some frump took offense and reported it to the moderator.

The Fodors moderators seem to have a simple forumula they apply. Any complaint, delete, warranted or not. That doesn't require any thinking, or ability to think.

Peter_s, don't hang your hat on what I did during one period of time. By the way, I only had the bar for 3 years. The first year was fun, the second year was ok and the third year it was just work. So I sold out to my partner.

My visit here to Fodorville (it's not big enough as a forum to call Fodortown or Fodorcity) has been entertaining if not educational. Far too many participants who can't see the forest for the trees in so many ways. Predictable I suppose given the typical Fodorite.

Why hang around with such a dull bunch of people? You have to wonder.

The OP will be remembered as the only poster who not only admitted to wearing
zip-off pants, but also to putting them on in the middle of Venice.
LOL!
