Annoying Expedia popups
Am I the only person who is annoyed by the Expedia ads that pop up periodically and don't offer the option of closing them?
I recognize that it costs to maintain a website, but most that I visit offer the option of closing the ads if you don't want to view them.
I never use the services of people who cram their advertising down my throat even if I have to pay more elsewhere. Bye, bye, Expedia.

There have been several threads on this.
They are the MOST annoying of the ads. Even with experimenting I couldn't figure out exactly what would trigger the drop-down menu thingy. The one that honks me the most is when I'm writing a reply.. Sheesh! As the saying goes -- put your money where you mouse is -- I've never used Experidia -- I never will now!!

Someone mentioned something about software that you can install that kills pop-ups, and said they haven't had to deal with the annoying Expedia pop-up at all since installing it.
Can anyone recommend a software such as this??
thanks!

The Expedia pop-ups are the worst! I have a pop-up blocker at home but not at work. The pop-up blocker eliminates all pop-up windows, which is great.
Try www.adsgone.com for a small $20 ish investment, we have been very satisfied. Previously we'd been getting pop-up ads even when our browser wasn't open! Now nothing gets through!

I HAVE emailed Fodors; thus far, to no avail. Would any of you care to join in?
It's not Expedia's fault. But I HATE the way it stops me typing, becuase usually I'm watching the keyboard, not the screen

Hi, rfb. I have PopUpCop, and it seems to work great on all other websites. But, it does not work on Expedia nor on the Spider Man ad for some reason. I just opened the options on my Google tool bar and turned on popup block. I'll let you know if that works.

Well, I was getting Expedia popups every time I logged on (and many times in between). It may be that it is a combination of PopUpCop and Google, but I've now logged on and off three times, and so far, so good.
