Andalucia itinerary

Hi again, I'm just throwing this out there to see if it makes sense.
Madrid at The Palace March 21-26 with day trips to Toledo and maybe Segovia. March 26-31 we are in Barcelona with maybe a day trip to Montserrat. March 31-april 4 in Seville at Hotel Giralda with day trip to Cordoba. April 4-6 at Arcos del la Frontera at El Convento with a tour of Ronda thrown in. April 6-10 at Nerja in Paraiso Del Mar with day trip to Granada and somewhere else? We fly out of Malaga at 10 pm on the 10th of April to London and then Canada.
My wife doesn't like 1 night stands hence the 4 nights in Nerja and no overnight in Granada.
Any suggestions? We hae a car booked on the way out of Seville until we fly out of Malaga.

Three days in Arcos is probably too much, even with a trip to Ronda. A day trip to Granada is IMO not enough. I would probably switch that around.

You'll be spending Semana Santa in Madrid: You'll be able to see some Religious Processions on TVE on Fri. 21 Mar or see one in Madrid for real on c/Mayor or c/Sacramonte not too far from Opera.

You should seriously consider a stop in Sevilla during Spring fair (feria de Sevilla beginning 8 Apr) or you might want to watch that on TVE also.

I thought about the spring fair in Seville but I think we decided to avoid it and see Seville the week before.

We did a day trip from Nerja to Granada and it worked out fine. Have you thought about reversing Madrid and Barcelona as it's easier to get to Seville from Madrid? Also we enjoyed a day trip from Barcelona to Montserrat. Your trip sounds wonderful!

We are flying in from a week in Brussels to madrid. We got a 30 euro flight to Barcelona so that worked ok.
We dropped the Arcos to 1 night and go from there to Granada for 2 nights and then Nerja for 3 nights. With Seville still in there after Barcelona.

I agree that you can easily do a day trip to Granada from Nerja. Also, there are many other wonderful day trips in that area.

I would encourage daytrips from Madrid to both Toledo and Segovia, as both are well worth the time and you'll still have time for the major sights of Madrid.

Make sure you get reservations for Alhambra in advance (on Internet)

Can I ask how you got the 30 euro flight to Barcelona, Sammy? We'll be in Andalucia, but my daughter really wants to go to Barcelona. Maybe if we can find something cheap enough we can do it!

Check out Vueling for cheap flights in Spain. We flew from Barcelona to Seville last May for 20 Euros each including taxes and fees.

I second Vueling. Good rates, no problem rescheduling for a small fee on a short notice, good responsive service.

We are in Madrid for the Easter weekend. It was suggested to take a trip to Toledo for the day to see the festivities. Does anyone else recommend this or should we stay in Madrid? We did want to do a day trip to Toledo anyways as well as Segovia.
