Amsterdam hotel help
Hello again, I have narrowed down my hotel choices to the following and would greatly appreciate any feedback. I am looking for a charming place that is close enough to the nightlife and walking distance to the attractions. I would like to stay under $150/night. Thanks again. 1. Hotel Eureka 2. Hotel Des Arts 3. Frisco Inn 4. Hotel Piet Hein 5. Seven Bridges

While you are waiting for replies, have you compared reviews at Tripadvisor.com? That might help eliminate something...
I have read the Piet Hein has 2 buildings, and there is a difference in the room quality (and maybe the price, too). I've heard of Seven Bridges, don't recall reading anything negative about it. Have not heard/read of the others...

Don't know these hotels, but from my single visit to Amsterdam I would choose anyplace nearer Leidseplein, Vondelpark, the Jordaan instead of central city around the train station, the Dam, RLD. One is gorgeous, the other gloomy (to my eye).

Of your choices, I would get on the phone right away and see if the Seven Bridges can accommodate you. I was taken on a little tour of their property when I dropped in to inquire. I saw several nice rooms, plus a ground-floor apartment across the street. I did not end up staying at the Seven Bridges, but I wanted to! The neighborhood is really, really nice - picturesque like the Jordaan but not quite as well known. Make that phone call.
