AMS Schiphol airport - getting between Terminals 1 and 3

An unexpected opportunity has arisen that will require me to connect flights through Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport. On both the way down and back to Dubai, I will need to change between terminals 1 and 3, with 2 hours between flights.

Its been ages since I last flew through Amsterdam, so can anyone tell me how difficult or easy it is to make the connection between these two terminals within 2 hours ?

I will be flying KLM throughout so hopefully will not have to reclaim luggage in between, but have it checked through to my final destination from the departure point, and only worry about getting myself from one gate to the other.

Thanks in advance.

M

Very easy especially with 2 hours - just follow the signs

Hello Mathieu, here is the official website which will help you get familar with the airport. A very friendly user airport in my opinion.

Schiohol is just one big building, terminal 2 is right next to terminal 3 - you don't even notice you have changed terminals! You shouldn't need to reclaim your baggage.

Stop in at the airport duty free and you can buy these nice boxes of chocolate wooden shoes!

Thank you, everyone, for your very helpful and reassuring advice. I was concerned that I might have had a 'changing-terminals-at-Heathrow-or-CDG ' type of issue on my hands with limited time, but it appears that I won't.

And thank you LoveItaly for the web reference. I had looked it up before posting, but didn't easily see where the references to the terminals were, but I do now.

Even with just 2 hours between flights its looks like I might have some time for some decent shopping at Schiphol. I have a few specific items in mind but I'll post and ask about them on a new thread.

Thanks again.

M.
