AMEX Miles Plus Program for Europe
Has anyone been able to use their AMEX miles to combine them with another airline's ff program for a ticket to Europe? When we joined the AMEX Miles Plus program, we were told that we could take Amex miles and use them with our Alaska Airlines ff account. Now they are telling us no...
Has anyone been able to do this?

I am not sure if this is what you mean, but AMEX and Air Canada have recently entered into a partnership. AC is part of the Star Alliance network (UA, LH, BD ...). However, there is a fee for the AMEX card. Here are the details:

American Express current program is called "Membership Rewards", but Alaska Airlines is NOT one of its 11 airline partners to transfer points to. I don't know if AS was ever a partner or not. So, you can't combine those miles.

Thanks everyone for your prompt replies. I think I'm finally figuring it out...
rkkwan, actually, this is a bit different program...called "miles plus", which we paid $75 extra for thinking we could combine with our ff AS acct., so I guess the charge is the issue now betweem Amex and us...
and I guess we'll just have to buy the extra miles for DH thru AS...
unless anyone else can think of a way we could do this...
