Nobody "needs" to drink Folgers coffee. Any swill will do.

You know what this thread reminds me of? Do you remember that Susan Smith woman who drowned her 2 kids? At first, she said that someone car-jacked her and took the kids. My co-worker was the first to exclaim, "She killed them!" Co-worker's rational was that NOBODY car-jacks a Mazda Protege. Turns out, she was right and there was no car-jacking.

Nobody is that addicted to Folgers. Although there are a lot of people addicted to coffee, the specific Folgers brand doesn't warrant this post. I smell fraud (troll).

But it was an interesting read anyway. That's why I come here - it's more entertaining than television.

WOW! My simple question about obtaining American brand food products and cigarettes in Europe has turned into a thread of comparing me to a child killer? WHOA!!!!

Mr__Dreamer - please remember that no one here actually knows the real you. People will feel free to say all kinds of things, sometimes attempting to be humorous, outrageous or just annoying.

You wanted to know about restocking your preferred brands while on vacation. Did you get the answers (eventually)..? If so, take 'em and be thankful. All the rest is just 'entertainment', good or bad.

If there were a line, yeah... but that's the problem. Maybe if you start spouting political rhetoric, you can get the thread pulled

>...a mysterious change seems to come over Americans when they go to a foreign land. They isolate themselves socially. They live pretentiously. They're loud and ostentatious. <

Unlike the Brits, Germans, French, Australians, Japanese, Russians, Chinese, Koreans, Arabs (from whatever nation), etc, etc, etc

I say leave Mr Dreamer in peace, he has asked about four items that he wants to enjoy of an evening after a day out and about in a foreign country.

If he likes Folgers, which is truly muck, what the hell?

My response to his orginal post would be Folgers not available, neither Makers mark, probably no problem with Lipton and Camel fine.

End of story.

>...European women are usually unavailable in the large economy size.<

Not even in Scandanavia?

Anita Ekberg comes to mind.

On further thought, so does Sophia Loren, Mamie Van Doren,....and a couple of very interesting Danish girls whose names would not be familiar to y'all.

>...if these are all the things necessary to make the trip bearable, is the destination correct? <

Once upon a time, even before Uncle Ira was born, it was quite common for a person traveling far from home (no matter where home was) to bring a large trunk of stuff.

If one could afford it, one also brought one's personal servants.

While it's not political rhetoric some of the posters were even insinuating most American women are fat! Was that just in good humor?

Speaking of brand products and Americans:

Just watched ABBA the Movie and saw George Clooney in a commercial promoting Martini. He also promotes Nespresso.

Are these commercials seen outside of Europe?

ira - the quote is not mine - it is a very famous quote from "The Ugly American" by Eugene Burdick and William Lederer. I thought Uncle Ira would recognize it.
If you doubt what janisj and others have surmised, scan all the posts and make your own conclusion (witness the ABBA remark).

Sorry, but your answer is akin to "who the hell is this Elvis?".

And no, ABBA is NOT a coffee, vodka, or any other brand.
