Amadeus Hotel Haarlem
Has anyone stayed at the Amadeus Hotel in Haarlem and have any feedback for me? Any other suggestions for a reasonable hotel for two couples for on a long weekend to Amsterdam...we really liked staying in Haarlem in the past and don't mind the short train ride to the city.

I spent a week there a ouple years ago. It was clean and reasonable. Breakfast was a buffet of boiled eggs, cold cuts, cheese, bread, cereals, milk, juice, coffee, tea. My single rom had a bath. I loved looking out the window at the lit up town hall at night. The breakfast room looked out over the main square and it was fun to watch the comings and goings as I ate.
It is right on the main square where there is a market twice a week.
You said you have stayed in Haarlem before, so I don't need t mention all the wonderful things to see and do there to say nothing of the quick train ride into Amsterdam.
Hope your trip is wonderful!

We've stayed there twice and it's the place I'd stay again if in Haarlem. Rooms are a little small and you've got to drag your bags up a flight of stairs to get to registration. From there they have a small elevator to use. Very friendly people and Inez at the desk knows all about tourists and their questions.

Ditto other's replies.
Easy walk from train station to hotel/market. If I recall, the Corrie ten Boom house is along the way btwn the two.
We went in early April a couple years ago and had a window overlooking the square. Since it was cool, we had the window closed most of the time so no square noise to bother us. It would be a concern in the summer.
As it is an older facility, I recall the bathroom as being uniquely small as if is was an afterthought which indeed it probably was.

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately the Amadeus was not available for the weekend we are going. We opted for a great deal (105 US)at the Marriott in Amsterdam...although I hear it is under renovation and we may get what we pay for. We'll miss staying in Haarlem, no doubt.
