The Chalet is (or was) located in the Italian Alps. Trentino Region in the Val Gardena. The name of the town is Selva di Gardena. There are two other towns next to each other which are St. Cristina and Ortisei. Some people confuse this part of the Alps with either Austria or Switzerland but it is Italy. The name of the film was "Rome Adventure" If any one could have the opportunity to see this film again, you will notice that when Troy Donahue was speaking to the Chalet owner asking for a "room with a view" in the background your can see the Val Gardena Castle which is located in Selva de Gardena. I have been also unable to find he name of this chalet and after almost 50 years since the movie was made it is difficult to find someone with the correct answer. Two years ago I was in this part of the world as I was also looking for this chalet but it is difficult with the hundreds and hundreds of new places. I hope that some one could provide the name of the small Chalet. In the movie you can see the sign indicating "Pensione" but that means only Room and Board. Any help will be very much appreciated. Thanks. Alfredo

I too love the flower window boxes in the Alps. Here are shots both in the Dolomites and also the Engadine valley of Switzerland. Sorry I do not know the hotel in the movie.
