Algeciras Ferry Terminal - Overnight parking
I also posted this in the "Spain" board. My apologies for duplication.
I am seriously considering a trip to southern Spain next month. Your tips have been fantastic. Thank you.
After thoughtful consideration, we decided to rent a car (easy car? must look into them) for our entire time in Anadalucia. We'd also like to visit Tangier for a couple days.
After doing the research, it seems the most "cost-effective" and easy to leave the rental car at the terminal at Algeciras for when we return.
So my question is: is anyone aware of overnight parking facilities at the terminal and the costs associated with them?
Thanks!

hi, newlywed:
There isn't a "Spain Board" on Fodors. It's all of Europe lumped into one.
I can't help you with the parking issue, but for renting a car I would recommend you look into AutoEurope.
I would also recommend you skip Tangier. It's likely to leave you with a very unpleasant impression of a very wonderful country - like going to Tijuana to "see Mexico." Go back sometime when you can see the "real" Morocco.

I'd first have to agree with St. Cirq on the concept of a day trip to another country. Especially one so diverse as Morocco. I haven't been to Tangier but have been to border towns in many different countries and they're rarely a very representative or very nice version of the country in which they reside.
On the parking question though - we actually took the ferry IN to Algeciras from Ceuta (after spending 3 wks in Morocco) and the parking situation around the port is pretty slim from what I saw. I'd have a hard imagining that there'd be different types of designated parking. In our case, we went up the hill to the train station and headed on to Ronda, which is a gorgeous ride, by the way. Might be another way to think about getting to the port.
