I have eaten in your mentioned restaurants. While the food in all of them can vary considerably from time to time and from person to person the one constant is that "Laserre" is the most spectacular looking and festive restaurant in the world. Bar none. While the food is not what it was 40 years ago...the feeling you get when you go up that elevator and enter the room has not changed.

In my opinion that is the place to celebrate...many French use it to celebrate.

We actually considered Lasserre again - for the dining room alone and the sliding roof, but we felt that there are so many outstanding places to eat, that we wanted to try somewhere else this time. Thanks for your input.
