You've got time to shop around and should get a pretty good deal on airfare to cdg. Does it have to be New Years Day? Maybe that's a problem.
For now, I'd wait, you're sure to get a better fare. There are many websites to sign up with for a trip alert start with Kayak.com, tripadvisor, priceline etc...

I thought the price seemed high. I just pulled up www.1800flyeurope and found it to be $590. I used your Jan 1st and Jan 9th for return date, just to have one. That sounds like a good price to me...I think Boston gets some good fares...

I think the price sounds a little high, also. I know fares can be high around the holidays, but I thought that would be before that date.
I just checked on Air France and that flight is only $741 RT, both ways nonstop, including all fees and taxes. I thought that seemed high. That was for July 1st and any reasonable return date about 10 days later (weekday).

sorry, I meant I did check for January 1st.
Air France has a nice website as it gives you pricing options around your dates if you really want to find the cheapest nearby day. For some reason, the end of Dec. last few days are actually $25 cheaper than Jan 1st, probably because that's a Friday.
