I have to admit the remarks about this airline "reeks" of sterotypical remarks. This is a valid question, I wwould like some valid answers. The cancelling at a moments notice and older planes are the valid answers I was looking for. Thanks again for those replys. PJ

Flew on Air India from NYC to New Dehli via london, and back. The planes are very cramped and full. Coming back air India changed their schedule, so I missed a flight home, from NYC. Air India had known about the change for weeks but didn`t inform passengers. I got food poisoning on the plane. If you go, eat the Indian food. it looked much better than the American diet. The plane smelled like sweat and curry. Service was poor, but if the price was right, I might try it again. At least we got there.

Patec are you related to Uncle Sam? Your remarks are racist and hate filled. And if posted simply to rile up the likes of me, I still need to wonder why be hateful toward an entire population of people you've never met? It bothers me greatly the Fodor's allows this kind of racism to be posted. Patec you're an ingnorant, pathetic idiot who doesn't deserve a trip to the car wash, let alone a flight on a safe plane with others.

I flew Air India twice, for short trips within the country, about 8 years ago. When a rodent (I prefer to think it was a field mouse) almost ran over my foot in the "terminal", I freaked. The planes were (I had been warned) very late. They were dirty and smelly. I was concerned that if this was how they were maintained on a superficial level, then what must be going on with mechanical maintenence?

PJ-why don't you try the new Singapore Airlines service Ord to Amsterdam that is in the Chicago Tribune and then arrange a cheap tix on the Amsterdam to London portion? I think that the paper had the Singapore fare yesterday as something like $275.00 one way. Singapore airlines is supposed to be very nice and then you could use something like a Ryan Air(doesn't KLM have a smaller sub airline?) to connect to London?
