Air Fare help for : London or Rome?

I will be departing LAX on Sept 30, 2004 and my final destination will be Rome. The LAX/Rome fare is very high (over $1,000). I found that I can go LAX to London for about $600, and then get a cheap flight from London to Rome for $150. But, I am wasting a couple of days travelling. I want to return to LAX on Oct. 10, 2004. Anyone out there know of any good airfares? Any suggestions?

What time does your flight arrive at LHR on 10/1 and also what time does it leave LHR on 10/10?

Alitalia has $155 fares throughout the day, so I don't see how you would be wasting any days.

Are staying the whole time in Rome?
The nice thing about flying to London or Paris is all the smaller airline options. Fly in to Rome and out of Venice, Naples, Milan ??

Also, www.1800flyeurope.com is showing a fare of $750 (all included) for the dates you need, a non-stop to Paris and connecting there for a short hop to Rome. They don't show what airline you'll be flying, although they do show the times of the flights. It's just a guess but I believe it's probably AirFrance.

Hope this helps!

Try http://www.france.com and click on airfares on the right side of your screen.

They usually have excellent prices. We fly from LAX too.

It usually pays to check a few sites.

Good luck.

Did you check out the Rome nonstops on Delta out of Cincinnati,JFk or Atlanta as you could connect through those cities from LAX? The fares usually go down a bit after Labor Day on those sales.

Hi lb,

http://airtravelcenter.com/onetrav.htm has exactly what you want via Paris, with a 1 1/2 hr layover, for $690.
