advice on IST-Kayseri flights
I want to fly from Istanbul to Kayseri. I'm getting a rate of $324.00 US on Turkish Air. This seems too expensive according to most guide books. Is it advisable to wait and book in Turkey?

Have you tried ONUR AIR
http://www.onurair.com.tr/
They are cheaper then Turkish Air BUT you have to reserve your seat before going to Turkey and I am sorry to tell you that their web side is not for outsiders you have to dealy with travel agency in Turkey or write them. (I hope they can reply)

Turkish Airline price never go down (I hope) Some of Travel Agency sell ONURAIR tickets.
If you are staying in Sultanahmet in Istanbul there are alots of Travel Agencies you can go and buy your ticket. I think this is the best way OR write to Onurair line maybe they may reply your e-mail

Landini,
$324 is too high. I just checked the website, and a one-way ticket from Istanbul to Kayseri in June is 170 new Turkish Lira. When you convert that, it is, I think, somewhere around $120, which makes much more sense. When I went in 2001 it was around $90, so the increase is appropriate.
I wonder if you somehow plugged in the wrong information or converted the money from or to the wrong currency.
I did use a Turkish travel agent to purchase the ticket for me, but I can't imagine that you actually have to have an agent make the purchase. Still, it was helpful to have someone else do it, and my tickets were waiting for me at my hotel in Istanbul when I arrived.

We used Cintia at Argeus, a Turkish travel agency, to purchase our internal air tickets for our September 2005 trip. Argeus came highly recommended in a number of guide books. We were satisfied. She can be reached at [email protected].

It seems that you need a travel agent to help you in Istanbul. You can contact Mr Cem Metin from Eurasia Tourism. [email protected]

Just flew myself and my family of 5 from Istanbul to Kayseri. Also flew from Kayseri to Izmir and from Denzeli to Istanbul and I think that my combined 3 flights were much less than that. $325 is way too much. I flew Onur Air from Istanbul to Kayseri, then Sun Express (on a Turkish airlines ticket) to Izmir then Denezli to Istanbul on Turkish airlines. I used Matiana travel. Hope that helps.

I booked the tickets about 2-3 weeks in advance. You can e-mail Anne from Matiana travel. I don't have their e-mail off the top of my head but I'm sure you can google them. I used Onur air just once then used Sun Express and Turkish airlines. All seemed to be equivalent from the standpoint of service, aircraft etc . . .
