Actual driving time from Malahide to Dublin Airport
I am considering staying last night in Ireland at Beechwood B&B in Malahide-near Dublin. Their website says 15 min drive to Dublin Airport...has anyone driven from Malahide to the airport and, if so, how long did it take? I do not drive as fast as the Irish and I want to stay in B&B as long as possible (for the breakfast!) before leaving but still have enough time to bring car back and 3 hour check-in.
Also, has anyone stayed at Beechwood B&B? Any comments-it looks wonderful on the website.
Thanks,
Shadow

Hi Shadow
I live in Dublin - Malahide is very close to the airport. 15 minutes is a fair guess for the drive, can be longer if traffic is heavy - bear in mind also that you will have to aloow time for dropping the car off at the hire centre and then get yourself to the terminal building - it is not far, 150 metres or so.

Gaban-thanks! I forgot to mention that this will be a Sunday-Oct. 30. Our flight leaves Dublin at noon so we will plan on leavng the B&B at 7:45.
Hopefully with the drive, dropping off car and getting into airport we'll be ready to check in by 9:00????
(I will drop my friends off in front of airport with luggage-they can get in line, and I will drop car off and meet them in the airport)
Beechwood B&B anyone?

I have stayed at Beechwood and it is gorgeous! It is also recommended on the following website: http://www.irelandyes.com/lodgings.html You could always ask for more info about it there.
What time are you leaving for the airport? 15 minutes to the airport is possible but since you say you drive slowly, give yourself an additional 10 minutes. Sunday morning should have little traffic.
You will want to make sure they will serve an early breakfast at Beechwood. Usually it starts around 8 or 8:30 at B&Bs. However, some places will do an early one if asked.

Opps! I meant Gavan (not Gaban!).....
Irish Eyes...thanks for the website and glad you liked Beechwood...thanks!
This is actually my 9th trip to Ireland (my mom lives in Roscommon) but I've never stayed in Malahide and driven to Dublin Airport from there...

You will have to let everyone know how you liked Beechwood when you get back. It really is first-class. I was in Roscommon in May. Boy was that town jumping on a weekend. I thought I was in Dublin it was so busy!

IrishEyes-my mom lives in Co. Roscommon...in Ballaghaderreen. But, yes, Roscommon Town can be a busy town!!
I have not gotten to spend much time there but I have been into Gleesons Townhouse and its lovely!! I would love to stay there sometime but I'm ususally in Ballagh..
I will post a report when I return (Oct. 30 is return date).
Thanks!
