Is that the area that the Beatles made famous?

It's where they crossed the zebra crossing for the cover of the eponymous album.

For an exact location see:-

Abbey Road Studios are located in St John's Wood. The Beatles recorded here and did take the famous photo at the zebra crossing for the album cover. There are no tours, but you can hold up traffic and have someone take your photo crossing the street!!!

oh that sounds like fun! LOL.

Anyway, thanks, that is what I was looking for. I always thought it was Abbey ROW for some reason!

(Maybe it is because I am from the South!!)

I went in there once, when they opened the place for a few weeks in the early 80's. They showed a Beatles compilation video (of which I have a pirate copy). I actually played the grand piano they used on many of their later recordings as well as the organ on which they recorded "We can work it out". The piano was still stuffed with throat lozenges apparently. It was much much larger than I expected - like a big hall rather than a cozy recording studio, with steps leading up into a high producer's room. Oh, the memories!!
