Welcome home! Can't wait to read all about it.
Where did you stay in Positano? Would you say mid-May is a good time to go? We are planning or trip mid-May next year, but we could also go a little bit earlier or later, if you think that would be a better choice.
Thanks

I just left Positano yesterday. We stayed at La Caravella right on the water. Nice room with balcony. No breakfast included and not free wifi, but we will definitely stay there next year. I had intended to stay in Sorrento, but my son got to Italy a day before me and decided on Positano. I am so glad we did. I LOVE Positano! Yesterday when we left, we climbed all the steps and straight uphill to the bus in pouring down rain. It was like we were walking in a river. The Amalfi coast is absolutely gorgeous!
We went to Capri and on to AnaCapri. Yes, I bought two pairs of sandals made by Antonio Viva. I love them. I have very narrow feet and it is nice to finally have sandals that fit!
We stayed 5 nights and still didn't see all the places I wanted. Positano is a definite "return to" place.

Thank you - hard to take a bad photo here. I took too many, as usual.
XYZ - I stayed at Residence Alcione, which is next door to the Hotel California (the balcony scene in "Under the Tuscan Sun"). Very good location - high enough up to have great views, as you can see from that photo, yet only a ten minute walk to the beach. And a scenic walk, at that. I had a great week, can't speak for other weeks but if this is typical May weather I'd highly recommend it. If I were to go in July or August it would be a different trip, I think - less sightseeing/hiking (too warm) and more laying around the beach doing nothing. Assuming a beach lounge chair was to be found in July, that is!
yestravel, good to know. Maybe late October is better? I wonder why so jammed, given that school is back in session already...
scatcat - sounds heavenly!

flygirl, I think you were in Positano the same time I was. We had a terrible storm on the night of the 22nd. And the next morning a heavy downpour of rain while we hurried up to the bus stop from the beach.

Yes, she did. Check under her name and you'll find it.
xyz99- I think end of May/early June may gave you a chance at better and warmer weather. And you'll still miss most of the crowds that come later in the summer.
