We did one from Ischia, but you can go from Capri as well. We had a wonderful day DOING nothing. We arrived by boat and walked across and over the small island to the other shore. It was fun and we got hopelessly lost. We were in tiny little neighborhoods and people greeted us as we passed their open windows as if to say, "what the hell are you doing here, but welcome".
We had a great lunch overlooking the water, then went up through the "fortress" at the top of the island. We sat and watched fishermen repairing nets. Eventually we worked our way back to catch a boat back to Ischia. It was wonderful.

The Capri website doesn't list a DIRECT ferry/hydrofoil service between Capri and Procida.
So I believe you will have to go via Naples - unless Patrick knows otherwise ...

As I've mentioned on other threads about transportation in that part of the world. You can pretty much regard the published schedules as merely being a hint at what's actually available. There were lots of boats doing day trips (tours or transportaion only) to various islands, and we even found a way to go one way direct from Ischia to Positano by such a tour boat and paid less than what the cost of the regular hydrofoil was to Naples!
