5 Days in Scotland

A group of us, 4-8pp in their 60"s, are going to make a 5 day trip to Scotland from London in October. I understand our time is limiting. Please share your suggestions of where we should go and what we should do, to make the most of 5 days.
Thank you for your advice.

IME there is a big difference what is doable / practical depending on the size of group. Two couples and a mid sized car is a lot easier to organize than 8 people with various interests and multiple vehicles (I've done variations of both and up to and including a group of 14 booking a private bus/driver)

The simplest would be just to spend the 5 days based in Edinburgh and let people go where they want/see what interests them. Easy day trips using public transport would include places like Stirling, St Andrews, Glasgow, The Borders, North Berwick, etc.

There is a terrific local company that does small group single-day and multi-day tours to all parts of Scotland. They also will organize private tours if you all want to stick together.

You could fly London - Inverness, rent two cars, then do the 500 mile drive around the top of Scotland: https://www.northcoast500.com/

Here are some tips for the drive (around 5 days is recommended): https://www.northcoast500.com/2021/0...rth-coast-500/

I personally would not do the North Coast 500 with that size a group and especially that late in the year.

There are a LOT of places/regions that are more easily accessed without traipsing to the most rural/remote part of the entire country.
