3 days in Paris - which area to stay in
My wife and I will be visiting Paris for 3 days and was hoping for some suggestion on which area of Paris to stay in. We were looking for something near the Seine and also a place with easy access to an open market or shopping. There are probably a lot of nice places in Paris, was just wondering what your experiences have been. Hard to choose between so many areas, so need help! Thanks.

There are tonnes and tonnes of threads about this. If you do a search for Paris Hotels above you should find lots of info already on the board. In particular look for two threads, one lists Left Bank Hotels and the other Right Bank Hotels.

The Marias. The Richard Lenoir market is my favorite of all the Paris street markets. It is a short walk to the Seinr and the Iles. The Hotel Caron de Beaumarchais has caught my eye recently and if I didn't rent my apt. I would cretainly give it a go. Love the area

Thanks for the reply all. We are trying to find places that is under $100 per night, so low budget.
Avalon, Is the Marais area safe to walk around at night? Also is the Latin quarter another nice area to stay in? Thanks.

There really isn't any part of Paris that's not safe to walk around in at night. Wherever you live in the USA is likely far more dangerous. The Latin Quarter, though wildly popular with certain age groups, is my least favorite part of Paris. The Marais is pretty popular these days, too, but quieter and more refined than the 5ème. It's going to be tough to get a hotel for under $100 a night; maybe look at the Jeanne d'Arc - I haven't stayed there but have read it's a good budget choice.
