Our 25th anniversary is in a month, and we are planning to do a weekend trip to a special inn a few hours from home. Reading this thread makes me a little sad that we're not planning more, but at the same time I really can't complain. This is HIGHLY unusual for us, but we will have had three overseas (Europe) trips in a one year period. Luckily we did one trip with frequent flyer miles and we stay in university dormitories for our 2 weeks in Glasgow, which is very cheap.

My husband and I were just watching an Alaska DVD that he got out of the library for me as I have my first Anchorage layover this week. After watching the video, I must admit that that might be a great place for a 25th anniversary trip? Ladies-don't you think that I should have a nice "bling" piece in honor of our 25th? Keep the suggestions coming as I am enjoying everyone's various spots!

Well, bling is a definite plus! My husband bought me a diamond anniversary band in May when we visited the town where we were married (at the same store where he bought my engagement ring 25 years ago). I had the thought that I should not wear it until our actual July anniversary, but, truth be told, it hasn't been off my finger since we left the store!

For our 25th, 3 years ago, we went to Paris for a week, then to the Loire, Burgundy, and Provence. What a wonderful trip it was too! It was our first trip to Europe together and it has started a summer tradition for us. We are totally addicted to going over there now! If you travel in the countryside visitng the small towns more than the cities, the trip will not be as expensive for you.
