Rita, Thanks for the museum tip. I was wondering if the 3 or 5 day museum pass had to be used on consecutive days. Well now I know that, unfortunately, they do.

I want to let everyone know that Elaine emailed me her Paris file and it was wonderful. It will take me weeks to get through it. Anyone that is planning a trip should see this file. It is huge, but appears very informative.

Tammy-So I assume the fountains only run on Sundays. How many different tours of their various private rooms do they offer? Does Versaille have a website?

Beth-Thanks for the museum tips and we definitely want to do the fashion show. I will do a search for the Gallerie Lafayette website. If anyone knows the website address please post it. Also thanks for the list of websites.

Mike-How do I sign up for a walking tour? Is that something I need to make reservations for ahead of time? Are English speaking walking tours available?

Susan-A picnic in the park is always a wonderful idea and when I have a beuatiful park to have it in that makes it all the better. Thank you.

Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

Kathy

Our favorite small museum by far is the Jacquemart Andre.

Beth, Thanks for the reply. Once I reread all the posts I realized that. I guess we will have to attribute that to so much information, so little time.

Ron, Thanks for the museum tip. I will have to investigate that.

Keep the information coming. Thaks again. Everyone is so helpful.

Kathy
Versailles website:
http://www.chateauversailles.fr/

I'd like to make a vote for the Michelin Map 16 "Paris Atlas par arrondissements". It's in book form so you can just flip to the neighborhood you're in and not have a huge map flapping around in the wind. We picked it up at a Barnes & Noble (on the advice of a Parisienne I met while browsing the travel section there). There was a little store I wanted to find and the tourist map we were given didn't have the street I needed on it (it was very tiny). The Michelin Map was the only way I could have found this place. Well, I could have just started asking people on the street...

Jenny, Thanks for the versaille website. Also thanks for the map tip. Next time I'm at Barnes & Noble I'll have to look for that book. It seems much easier to look at one page of a neighborhood then a whole city map. Great idea.

Keep the tips coming. I am looking for ideas on day trips.

Thanks,
Kathy
One of the best Paris tips we have received is to see Paris Story, a very clever presentation which plays hourly, on the hour. It is located just to the left of the Opera Garnier on Rue Scribe [next door to the American Express].

The department stores Galeries Lafayette and Au Printemps are right up the Street. If you find yourselves there, go up to the roof deck of the second Au Printemps building for some nice views of the city.

By the way, it's a good idea to get a laminated map. Our favorite is the one put out by B&B City Streets.

Ron, What exactly is this Paris Story presentation? A play? a movie? something else?

I am planning on going to the Galleries Lafayette for a fashion show so I will go to the roof deck and check out the view.

Are the laminated maps by B&B City Streets available here in the USA?

Thanks,
Kathy
