1st time in London - Location wise, which would be the better for us?

Didn't see the previous post >>The Premier Inn at County Hall: directly across the river from Big Ben and Parliament. We stayed here, loved it.<<
Yes -- it is a great location, but there is no way it fits in the OP's budget.

>> Most of the places the OP has mentioned are in the £65-£85-ish range . . . <<
Janisj, you're awesome. I know I'm making things more complicated saying I can pay up to 115 and mentioning cheaper places, but it comes down to the fact that we didn't have a reasonable time to plan this trip and our budget (usually I take 4months to save money, search hotels and neighborhoods, ...).
About rentals, I usually choose something on Airbnb but I've received so many contraditory replies about Airbnb being ilegal in Paris that I didn't even consider it for our stay in London.
I believe/hope this will be my final reply in this post, so I just wanted to say once again that all opinions were very much appreciated and really helpful!

I'd quit knocking myself out - and just book the Hub on Dacre Street (or the one in St Martin's Lane if there is avaiablility) and be done w/ it.
They are cheaper than most airbnb's and in totally awesome locations. They are not posh but are VERY new and trendy and nicer than the Generator.
You can second guess yourselves -- but heck, it is only a few nights, and w/ all the savings you can splurge on other things.

I've stayed at the Park International. It's very close to the Gloucester Road tube station that has three lines going through it, and it is in walking distance of the V&A Museum and Harrod's if you are interested. Room rate includes a run-of-the-mill breakfast.

Re Premier Inn and your budget, which you say could go up to £115....Tripadvisor is showing mid-November deals for Premier Inn County Hall for US$174. Your pound budget tops out at about US$150, so you might want to stretch a little and eat a reeeeally big breakfast to keep you going through the day. But appreciate your need to stop the search and book something now!

But the Hub is only about £70

The OP has indicated they could go up to £115 but would prefer to spend less.
The PI County Hall is a nice location, but really isn't a budget property
