~ Need boat/hydrofoil Naples to Capri info ~

We plan to go to Capri from Naples Sat. 16 August '08. It will be only one night with our kids, 15 + 12. What is fastest way to get to Capri from Naples? Assume Naples is only spot to go from. Map shows no locales from northern tip of Almafi. What is available, ferries and hydrofoils?

How can I find out about both modes of water transportation and time schedules?

We went from Molo Beverello in Naples and took a hydrofoil over. Here is a site that you can look at. You can also click the ferry schedule at the top. http://www.capri.net/salsa/lang/en/p...ting_here.html

We went by bus from the arrivals terminal in Naples to the port. Very easy until the bus left us off on the opposite side of the street from the port. Trying to cross the street with luggage in Naples is unnerving.

There is a hydrofoil from the port in Naples to Capri. We took it in July with our 14 and 11 year old boys. We had arrived in the port on a cruise ship. THe ship had information about hydrofoil departure times. After getting off the ship, we hustled to a little building in the port where the tickets were for sale. We were late and there was a faster line for cash paying customers. The hydrofoil was a little rough, but not too bad. The seas were choppy that day. I think it took about 45 minutes. We loved our day tour on a boat around Capri, so it was well worth it. Have fun.

Besides Naples there are also ferry/hydrofoil services from Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast (- Positano, Amalfi ...)
