Transportation from airport to Manhattan hotels

Are there shuttles that run from NY airports to Manhattan hotels? And from cruise port to the airport? Or price for taxi?. I want to spent the night before in downtown Manhattan. Thanks

There are so many options from the three major airports, are you flying in to LaGuardia, JFK, Newark? Do you have a hotel booked yet? That info would be helpful.

Also, where is your ship's departure pier? Could be New Jersey, Brooklyn, Hudson pier in Manhattan--knowing that would help us help you.

While it may or may not be the most economical option, check with your cruise line to see if they offer a bus transfer from one or more points in Manhatten to the ship.

None of the hotels in Manhattan have shuttle service to/from any of the NYC area airports but as the previous posted said there are lots of different options for getting into NYC. Go to the official website for the airport you'll be arriving at and then click on the "Ground Transportation" link - you'll find tone of information.

Thanks, not sure where NCL docks. Flying into JFK to Marriott Marquis then to ship. May do the city tour excursion after the cruise. That will get me back to airport

I believe NCL uses the Manhattan Cruise Terminal at 12th Avenue.

The link RoamsAround refers to for JFK is: https://www.panynj.gov/airports/jfk-...portation.html As Cathinjoetown says, there are plenty of options.

Between JFK & Manhattan, the set cab fare is $52.80; with tolls and tip, expect to pay ~$70.

oh boy - LaGuardia is a mess.

Both the Breakaway & the Gem leave from Piers 81 & 82
If you take a cab from hotel to port it will go to the ramp on 55th & 12th and down to the ship.

If you hoof it, there is an entrance at 48th & 12th across from the taxi stand.

Cabs between LGA and Manhattan are on the meter, so cost varies.
$40 isn't a bad guesstimate.

You have several options. There are definitely shared shuttles like SuperShuttle, but they can be very slow (90 minutes plus to the hotel from LGA). I just wouldn't do that. I'd pay for a taxi. If you are two people, it's not that much more expensive. The price may be more or less than $40, but that is a good estimate. You can also take a car service, but that can be a bit more expensive, though it's a flat rate. You reserve in advance with your flight number and then press a link in a text they will send once you have your bags. You'll meet the car curbside, but LGA is a bit chaotic, so it can be hard to find the car. I generally prefer a taxi myself.

When you go to the ship, ask your taxi driver to take you to the corner of 48th Street and the West Side Highway if you can manage your luggage across the street by yourself. That will save you about $6 on taxi fare as well as time. The NCL pier is directly across the street from the taxi stand. You drop off your luggage at street level and then head up to the departure lounge, so this is actually the easiest way to enter the cruise pier.

I routine pay between $40 and $50 to get from LGA to 73rd and West End. So it probably is closer to 60 to get downtown. Uber is closer to the $40 mark BUT making the pickup at LGA can be very confusing. I prefer to take a taxi from LGA and an Uber back. However, there is one taxi que for LGA these days and that can be long depending on time of day. LGA is a mess it promises to be better in 5 years.

The OP is not staying downtown. The OP doesn't understand Manhattan. The Marriott Marquis is in Midtown on west 44th Street and will cost about the same amount from LGA (perhaps a big more) than the Upper West Side. But certainly no more than $10. But the actual costs depends entirely on traffic.

But this brings up a good point about varying fares in regular NYC taxis. It is sometimes to your advantage to book a car service that offers a set fare. However, I agree that any pick-up these days at LGA can be confusing.

There is a single taxi line for the main terminal (not all flights disembark at Terminal B), but I assure you that LGA has at least 4 separate taxi lines, one for each terminal.
