St Martin beach question

In July I am going on Royal Carribbean and we stop at St Martin. I just want to spend the day at the beach. Can anyone please give me advice as to a close nice beach that I can get to easy from where the cruise ships dock?

A VERY nice beach at St. Maartin is Mullet Bay. It is not at all crowded! You can get a LOCAL bus in town to get there and its easy to get back to town. The cost is $1.50 when you get there. The buses are vans with big signs as to where they are going on the dash in their front window. They don't really have 'bus' stops, you just flag them down when you see them!We used these buses twice this year and found Mullet Bay to be really good. It was about noon when we got there. The lady renting umbrellas and chaises looked at her watch, saw the time so only charged us $10 for two chaises and an umbrella. You can watch planes landing at the airport in the distance.
Orient Bay is on the French side, a ways from the pier. It is a nude beach but the left side is mostly clothed. We only saw one old nude man with topless wife(?). Buses don't go there, you have to get a taxi. Buses will also take you to Marginot the French capitol for $1.50. Cabs were $6. We have been delighted with the local buses since we found them! Let me know if you have any questions about this. And,Keep Smiling......Bonnie J....

You can get a van to Orient Beach at the end of the pier for $5 per person.

Ok, thanks for all your responses, 2 good choices, my 18 year old son is coming with me so I will tell him about the 2 choices and have him pick, guess we'll be going to the southern end of Orient beach. Many years ago I did go to St Martin and stayed on Mullet Bay, that was a very nice beach.

We took a cab and told the driver we would be leaving around 2 p.m. He came back for us.
