san juan port
I am flying into San Juan this Sunday to do a 7 day Southern Caribean cruise. Unfortuately, due to airline changes, I will land in the airport around noon and the ship will not start to embark until 2pm, with a 11pm departure. Does anyone know if there are any decent lunch restaurants in the airport or at the port that we (a family of seven with luggage) can kill a couple of hours at before embarking?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I can almost guarantee that by the time you get your group of 7 and the luggage organized and transported to the pier, you will be able to board immediately.
Do not eat a lunch before boarding. A great buffet will be awaiting you as soon as you can get onboard.
Have a great family cruise!
Bon Voyage!!

I would suggest that you also check in. Eat a quick bite onboard. Also leave your hand luggage behind in your cabin so you aren't carrying it around San Juan.
That process above will probably take you atleast an hour, but you will have until 4:30 or 5pm before it gets dark. You'll have a few hours to enjoy Old San Juan!!

Thanks Folks. Not sure if we can check in and board and then leave the ship, but we'll play it by ear. Worse case is we will check out OSJ when we return as we will have several hours to kill on the return side before our flight leaves.

It's been a few years since we were in San Juan for a cruise, but we went from the airport to the ship. You seem to have 2 hours for this and it will easily take that long. Depending where the ship ties up you may have a great opportunity to see a lot of old San Juan. There is a lot of walking, but it is a very interesting place. I'm sure you can leave the ship after tou check in. You will be doing just that every day on your cruise. Checking it can be a chore and it is best to get that over first. You will then have your ID from the ship which gets you on and off easily.
